Mental Attitude:
Hold on I’m coming. A new report states that people who claim a religious method for coping with death receive more aggressive medical attention during their last week on earth than those who claim a non-religious attitude. The religious group tends to be of “color” with less education and no insurance. Researchers can’t explain why they receive more aggressive care at this time. (GOD knows!!) Journal of the American Medical Association March 18, 2009

Health Alert :
Hold on I’m coming Part 2. Got the “BIG C”? New info suggests that lower levels of certain cancer drugs actually increase the growth of cancer tumors. (What next?) Researchers don’t know why these drugs (Sutent , Avastin and Cilengtide used to treat bowel, breast and lung cancer) create tumor growth at lower levels and seem to think higher levels are acceptable. To them this explains why they have been getting such crappy results (read: a lot of deaths) treating these patients. Start praying. Nature Medicine March, 2009

Diet :
Just the facts, Mam. More than half of the adults in the U.S are considered overweight or obese. (More than pleasingly plump.) This just in from De’ Gubment: We need to lose weight. Obesity is costing us a bundle. (99 billion in 1995.. Wall Street bailout numbers now, I’m sure.) Big bucks to treat all the things caused by having extra tonnage. Their advice: eat less, exercise mo’. Once you’ve lost the weight exercise even mo’. Thanks, Sammy. Centers for Disease Control Healthy People Data for 2010 March 2009

Exercise :
Just the facts, Mam 2. In 1997 only 15% of adults got the Gubment’s recommended levels of “physical activity.” Even less today. Regular exercise has been shown to prolong life expectancy. The truth (?)is this: Women do it less than men, People of “color” do it less than “people w/o color”, Po’ folk do it less than well to do folk, People living in the Nor’east and De’ south do it less than those living in the Nor’central and West ( That’s us !!) The message from Sammy: Just Do It. Thanks, Sammy. Centers for Disease Control Healthy People Data 2010 March 2009

Chiropractic :
The Promise. We are all handicapped by our own personal level of expertise. I’m the first to admit I know a whole lot about Chiropractic, yet I only know what I know. So.. what does this mean to you? Simply put, if you come to me with a problem I can’t correct I PROMISE, I WILL GET YOU TO SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP YOU. I value your trust in me and this is ALL about getting you better and not about me. Got it? Good. Dr. Bell March 2009

Wellness/Prevention :
Just the facts,Mam 3. Here is De’ Gubments solution fo’ improved health in 2010. Exercise Mo’, Eat less, Don’t smoke (even after sex), Don’t abuse substances (?), Have responsible sexual behavior ( Don’t get me started on this one), Have good mental health (?), Don’t die from injury or violence ( HUH??), Live somewhere where there is good environmental quality (?),Get vaccinated (from De’ Gubment) and finally get yourself Access to heath care. Someone shoot me. Centers for Disease Control Healthy People Data 2010 March 2009
